Our Master Distiller, Ian MacMillan, has been nurturing our precious Deanston Single Malts since 1991.
Ian has more than 40 years experience producing exquisite whiskies and embraces a traditional ethos of handcrafting each individual cask.
Our whisky has benefited greatly from Ian’s determination to maintain this traditional, hand-made process. There are many details which must be precise and accurate, and our craftsmen are best placed to track these by hand.
In addition to this, in 2010, Ian made the decision to move to un-chillfiltration which means that nothing is added to our whiskies and nothing is taken away. A single malt should be enjoyed just as nature intended: pure and perfect.
There is always room for experimentation here at our distillery; using various cask finishes, Ian has extended the Deanston range with the introduction of the wonderfully zesty Deanston Virgin Oak and some stunning Limited Editions, created exclusively for our Brand Home in Deanston, near Stirling.
