1995 Franse eikenhouten vatafwerking

Distilled right on the turn of 1995 into 1996, this single malt spent 24 peaceful years in ex-Bourbon before we introduce it to French Oak, and they got along famously. Chosen for our Warehouse 4 Tastings because it shows off Deanston's waxy, buttery backbone under a layer of elegant oak and soft autumn sweetness. It's the kind of dram that disappears suspiciously quickly. Hand-filled at cask strength, you're looking at the very last of this this rare single cask whisky.

This spirit was distilled on the 31st of December 1995 and went straight into ex-Bourbon casks, where it matured for 24 years, developing depth, honeyed sweetness and that unmistakable Deanston waxiness. In April 2018, we transferred it into French Oak Cask No. 408, encouraging rich patisserie notes and delicate spice to settle in. When the time was right, we cracked open the cask for our Warehouse 4 Tastings and hand-filled these final bottles directly from the source.
