ABOUT

Virgin Oak is a classic Deanston Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky. With its waxy mouth coating and notes of creamy vanilla toffee and heather honey, Virgin Oak is a true representation of Deanston’s unique character and house style. The rich depth of flavour and creamy mouthfeel means it is a versatile single malt, suitable for enjoying neat, with a drop of ice or water, and being mixed in a cocktail to enhance its natural viscosity.

CASK INFORMATION

First filled in barrels that have previously matured some of the finest American bourbon, for that classic waxy, citrus character that sets us apart. Then finished for 9-12 months in Virgin American Oak. These finishing casks have never matured any type of spirit before and are rarely used in single malt scotch whisky. However, Deanston’s uniquely waxy, citrus character is incredibly flexible and adaptable, making it the perfect single malt for experimentation in unlikely cask types. Our Virgin Oak casks are sourced from the Kelvin Cooperage in Kentucky, a family-owned cooperage that was founded on the banks of the River Kelvin in Glasgow, Scotland.

Matured in ex-bourbon barrels before a 9 - 12 month finish in Virgin American Oak barrels.

NATURAL COLOUR

With no added colour, the liquid maintains its amber gold hue, showcasing the maturation process and the impact of the cask.

NON-CHILL FILTERED

All our whiskies are non-chill filtered to maintain the whisky's integrity and preserve its uniquely waxy character.
