WHISKY CHARACTERISTICS

ABOUT

Virgin Oak has always been a little different. Our signature waxy, honeyed spirit meets virgin American oak to create a whisky rich in vanilla, spice and citrus, with a distinctive depth of char. For the 2026 Cask Strength Edition, we’ve turned that character up a notch. Bottled at 60.7% ABV, this limited release brings greater intensity to the spirit, with extra texture, spice, char and citrus taking centre stage. Presented in exclusive 60th anniversary packaging, it marks the beginning of something special – a limited cask strength collection crafted to celebrate six decades of doing things our own way.

CASK INFORMATION

irgin Oak Cask Strength begins life with the same distinctive Deanston spirit at the heart of the original expression. Matured first in ex-bourbon casks, the spirit develops layers of vanilla, honey and fruit while retaining Deanston's naturally waxy texture. It then spends up to 12 months in virgin American oak, where the new oak brings additional depth, spice and char to the spirit. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 60.7% ABV, the result is a fuller-strength expression of Deanston Virgin Oak – with the influence of spirit, wood and time all turned up a little further.

It’s like opening the oven door to a tray of apple pastries just as they’re ready – warm, buttery and caramelised. Then a little citrus comes along to keep you coming back for another bite.
